Abilene, KS - Eisenhower Museum and Library

Abilene, Ks is where Dwight D. Eisenhower was raised.  It is a small town and he was 1 of 6 boys raised on the south side of town.

His boyhood home is in its original spot with its original furnishings.  His mother lived in it until her death in 1946.  Then the brothers decided to turn it into a World War II memorial to honor Dwight Eisenhower's contributions.

The statue of Eisenhower has 5 stars surrounding it because he was a five star general.
