The Hermitage - Andrew Jackson's Home Near Nashville

Andrew Jackson, 7th president of the United States, built a mansion outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
He lived here until his death.

We took a wagon ride to the back of the property where the slave cabins stood.  The slaves that lived in these cabins worked the fields and farm maintenance.

A nickname for Andrew Jackson was Old Hickory.

Transportation during Jackson's era.

Jackson's wife, Rachel, had a veil with the name Jackson embroidered in different flower patterns.
