National World War I Museum

The National WWI Museum was bult around the Liberty Memorial.  This is the only museum about our first world war.  As you enter the museum, you cross over a glass bridge of 9000 poppies that represent 1000 causalities for each poppy.  The war fought for 3 years in Europe before the US got involved.  They dug all kinds of trenches across Europe.

The US became involved because Germans were taking to the high seas with their submarines and wanted to involve Mexico against the US.  Posters became very popular to recruit US soldiers to do their part.
