Spam Museum, Austin, Minnesota

We left Prairie du Chien area and headed for Forest City, Iowa.  When we checked in at the rv park and paid our money, the host alerted us to the fact of a severe weather warning.  Jim was unaware of the severe weather warning.  She explained that a severe warning means that there is a possibilty of a "TORNADO"!  We were given a map of a storm shelter in case the siren sounds. Luckily, no siren even though it was rainy and windy.

The next morning we went to Winnebago and toured the factory.  After a 20 minute video, we took a bus and toured the 200 acre facility.  We superficially toured the motor home production lines in a building called "Big Bertha".  Along the catwalk, we were able to see the motor homes creep down the assembly line at 5 inches per minute.

Next, we drove to Austin, Minnesota through wind and rain.  After arriving in Austin, we went to Culver's for lunch.  Culver's is a new fast food experience.  Jim especially like the custard.  Then off to the Spam Museum. This was an unique and interesting museum.

This display is made with over 3400 cans of Spam.

This entrance was made into the shape of a Spam can with the key.

We discovered that Hormell owns many different products, even Skippy Peanut Butter.
